Hello, and welcome to my beautiful garden, while I have salted lemon marmalade on the go in my kitchen, I turned my energies to my garden at the weekend. This is a time to get on with things, as pretty soon  the ground will have warmed up and everything will be pushing its way through the soil, seeking the sun, and on into maturity, a bit like one’s children, who in the blink of an eye are growing up and on to the next stage. I had an article on my timeline showing it is possible to grow a huge variety of flowers and vegetables in a square metre, so a few extra herb plants wouldn’t go amiss and would benefit the kitchen enormously! I have a lovely herb garden with box hedges and paving, which gives me so much pleasure, and I use the contents every day in Aggie Redpath’s Family Kitchen.

I planted  3 Thymus x citriodorus ‘Golden King’, lemon thyme to you and me, and they are happily snuggled into this secluded spot, being nurtured by yours truly! The lemon oil in this  plant is quite significant, which makes it very handy for the kitchen, and loves roast chicken, fish, pasta. I do understand that when a herb or plant is recommended, it is not always  possible to get that particular variety, so plant any variety you can get, but do make sure you use it!
