This pud speaks for itself, as we scoffed the lot in one sitting, I am repeating this recipe the following night! This is to use up, that bit of plain cake that is beginning to go stale, the better the cake the better the pud. This is more of an idea than an exact recipe, as only you can judge the amount you have in your kitchen. Naturally cream or ice cream hits the spot with this!

  • 3 Slices of cake.
  • 150 ml Apple juice
  • 6 Bramley cooking apples
  • 3 Tsp Soft brown sugar
  • 1 Pt custard


  1. Slice the cake and put in a serving dish
  2. Spoon apple juice over the top, leave to soak in.
  3. Spread the cooked apple on top. Leave to cool, add custard on top and again, leave to cool.


Can eat warm or cold.
